QC Manager - Full Time 37.5hrs
Salary £45 - £55k
While this is a full-time position (37.5 hours), we would consider applicants who wished to work part time. The minimum we would accept would be 22.5 hours, with a preference for at least 30 hours.
This position is based at our offices in Uxbridge. Given the hands-on nature of the role, you will be expected be on site every day. Occasional ad-hoc days working from home (for emergencies, appointments etc) will generally be acceptable.
As Quality Control Manager you would help to maintain our good reputation with both our customers and suppliers. You will have substantial experience as a QC Manager or a similar role in jewellery manufacturing and be a source of technical excellence in our business. Candidates should strong communicators, being equally confident giving feedback to senior mangers or advising warehouse and front-line staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain QC systems. This includes both internal and external inspection regimes and data led approaches.
- Lead on inspection of higher value finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and correct goods are received.
- Raise non-compliance with buying team and/or suppliers and lead on delivering solutions.
- Provide advice to our buyers on new and existing products with regarding suitability, potential QC issues, legal and H&S guidelines.
- Co-ordinate with suppliers to ensure QC standards and specifications met.
- Manage the Stock Repair department to ensure faulty goods are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Review and maintain F Hinds Supplier Manual and returns agreements.
- Liaise with the wider business about QC and related matters
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven work experience as a Quality Control Manager or similar role in jewellery manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of quality control standards, testing methodologies, precious metals, gemstones and jewellery.
- Software Skills: Confident user of Microsoft Excel
- Leadership and Communication: Strong team management, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to analyse data, identify problems, and implement corrective measures effectively.
- Compliance: Hallmarking and other relevant legislation, gemstone descriptions.
